Some days Ethel feels like communicating. Some days she doesn’t!

Unlike Ethel, if youʼre in business, you donʼt have that luxury.

  • You have a product or service you want to sell.
  • There are potential clients out there who want to buy.

....unless you communicate with them clearly, that’s not going to happen.

THE WAY I WORK

  • I’m not a prima donna, so won’t have a hissy fit and drum my heels if you don’t like some of my suggestions.
  • I believe business information, starting with your name and strap line onwards should be understandable, relatable, and likeable.
  • I’m good at sticking my nose into other peoples’ business - the more I learn the better I can help you tell everyone else.

 I BELIEVE WRITING FOR BUSINESS SHOULD BE;

  • Brief
  • Clear
  • Original

Why use several words if one will do. Yes, I know Shakespeare did, but he was working to a different agenda.
If information isn’t instantly understandable, people’s eyes start to glaze over – and that’s never a good thing.
If  your name, strap-line, and message don’t make you stand out then they’re letting you down.

"I thought I could write, could get my message across authentically, but now I've been MM’d I realise I was just too close to my own topic to see clearly. Marilyn you always manage to write my messages with clarity and efficiency whilst maintaining my personality in every word. You read your clients better than any psychologist! You’ve taught me a huge amount and continue to inspire and get me out of trouble when I'm stuck."
